Stanley Syrek
SYREK b. 7/4/1920
Stanley A., 95, of East Rutherford, on Monday, September 28, 2015. Born in Passaic he has lived in East Rutherford most of his life. Prior to his retirement in 1985, Stanley was an injection molding operator at the Bendix Corporation in Teterboro for over 40 years. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard serving in WWII earning the American Campaign Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. Stanley was a member, past president, and chaplain of the Wallington V.F.W. Pavlick Koster Post 2640, a parishioner, and former usher at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church, Wallington, member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 3644, Wallington. and a member of the Wallington Senior Citizens. Stanley was the beloved husband of the late Mildred (nee Bednarz), devoted father of Gerald "Jerry" Syrek, and his wife Terry, of Washingtonville, NY, and Gregory T. Syrek, and his wife Lois, of Bervidere, NJ, loving grandfather of Jeffrey, Kerry, and great-grandchildren, Jared, Deven, and Zoey, and dear brother of the late Edwin Syrek. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Thursday, 9:30 AM, from the Kamienski Funeral Home, 106 Locust Avenue, Wallington, and 10 AM at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Edmund Syrek
CLIFTON – Edmund "Monty" M. Syrek, 85, of this city, died on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013.
Born in Passaic, Mr. Syrek lived there and in Wallington before moving to Clifton in 1963. He was a mechanic for Lexington Chevrolet, Clifton, for more than 40 years before retiring in 1985. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Pavlick-Koster Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2640, Wallington. He was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church and a member of Regina Mundi Knights of Columbus Council 3969, both of Clifton, as well.
Mr. Syrek is survived by his children, Michelle Polkowski of Rydal, Pa., Richard Syrek of Redwood, N.Y., and Judith DiFonzo of West Goshen, Pa.; his brother, Eugene, of Clifton; his sister, Helen Kaiser, of Clifton; and five grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Genevieve Wrobel.
